Alfred Click on the picture of the book cover to view it online It is a story that takes place in Philadelphia in the 1890s about an orphan boy and his coming of age in the midst of tragedy, corruption and crime In 2017, the sequel, "Alfred and his Friends," was published. In this volume, Alfred becomes a man, pushed ahead by his late mentor’s wife. He tries to follow his heart in his pursuit of romance but finds delay and distraction instead.
In volume 3, Alfred still did not know what happened to his sister, but he prospered at the university and went on to law school and a career working for his mentor’s brother-in-law. His romantic notions of a life with a college girl didn’t go his way. Having been tutored in the ways of the rich yielded dividends in his law career. His search for love finds promise in New York City, where he also kept alive his companionship with his best friend, Jack.
